LSSiDATA's’s Business Category database consists of more than 22 million business and government listings in the United States, searchable by name or category (similar to Yellow Pages directories). Telecommunication organizations throughout North America have relied on this same data repository for years to deliver automated and operator-assisted business listings for callers. Listings are derived from the National Directory Assistance database, with SIC codes appended to add category search capabilities

A unique LSSiDATA process called SIC-fix sharpens SIC code accuracy via automated processes to ensure optimal categorization. SIC-fix applies an algorithm developed over years of services that more accurately matches business listings the most appropriate SIC code. An excellent example is a situation where virtually any business associated with healthcare is assigned the SIC code for hospitals. SIC-fix applies exceptionally granular SIC analysis to apply codes that identify physician specialties, rehab facilities, massage therapists and many other classifications. Sub-categories included within the classification process span many business categories such as type of restaurant, or physician specialty aid search effectiveness.

Match listings for brands are also available to link brand synonyms with the appropriate listings (e.g. "Kentucky Fried Chicken" and "KFC". More than 1,200 keywords work to deliver the most appropriate business listing when alternative business names are applied. It also enable searches with partial names. Government searches can support many levels and offices for a single municipality or government request.
